R&B singer R. Kelly has been charged with 10 counts of aggravated sexual abuse in Cook County, Ill., according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
According to the Daily Beast, the charges stem from a video which allegedly shows Kelly performing sexual acts on an underage girl, who the tape identifies as being 14 years old.
Kelly has been accused of multiple counts of sexual assault of underage girls spanning over the last two decades. This week, two women came forward to accuse the singer of sexually assaulting them at an after-party in the 1990s when they were underage. After a Lifetime docuseries aired featuring several of Kelly's alleged victims, authorities in Georgia also began an investigation into potential criminal activity. Federal authorities are also reportedly investigating the singer.
Kelly has denied the accusations. His lawyer said the singer "never knowingly had sex with an underage woman."
Kelly was tried and found not guilty of child pornography charges in 2008. Attorney Michael Avenatti, who reportedly provided Cook County investigators with the tape that led to Friday's charges, said Kelly paid people to "rig" the trial.
