For the first time in the 2016 season, two local teams broke into the Texas Girls Coaches Association top 25 rankings in their respective classifications.

Stephenville found themselves ranked No. 23 in the new rankings, largely in part to their recent five-game win streak. The current streak before their match Tuesday night against Alvarado included wins over Venus, Midlothian Heritage, Brownwood, Waxahachie Life and Godley.

The Honeybees’ record in district 8-4A is currently 7-1 with their only loss coming against No. 2 Glen Rose who they will play again Friday on the road.

The other local program currently ranked is Hico.

The Lady Tigers find themselves at No. 21 in the 1A/2A state rankings and are boasting an impressive 9-0 district record.

Their last victory was a 3-0 sweep of district foe De Leon on Friday by scores of 25-13, 25-16 and 25-12.
