The senior scored rushing and receiving while making 13 tackles on defense at Rising Star last week.

Lingleville rolled over Rising Star in dominant 51-6 fashion to open its six-man season last week, and now sets its sights on struggling Moran.

The Cardinals had contributions coming from up and down their roster in the season-opening rout, led by quarterback and safety Robert VanKranenburg.

The junior gunslinger was 8-11 passing for 148 yards and three scores and rushed 10 times for 169 yards and another touchdown, giving him a hand in 317 yards of offense. He also picked off a pass and forced a fumble on the defensive side.

But VanKranenburg had plenty of help, especially from two-way standout Edwin Chacon, who rushed for a score, caught a scoring pass, made 13 tackles and recovered a fumble.

Tucker Click rushed five times for 55 yards and a TD, Josh Alvarado rushed four times for 47 yards and a score and Addison Hunter found the end zone once on his three carries while making 12 tackles on defense.

Ruperto Huerta had one of Lingleville's biggest plays of the night when he beat the defense deep for a 47-yard TD catch from VanKranenburg.

Marcus De La Cruz also scored on one of his two catches.

Moran appears out-manned on paper, having lost its opener to Brookesmith, 61-28. Moran also scrimmaged Stephenville FAITH and was smashed 10 touchdowns to none.

The Cards visit Moran Friday with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.
