No. 15 Tarleton entered Portales, New Mexico Saturday evening with the hope of keeping their unscathed Lone Star Conference record intact and did just that with a 92-79 victory.

Aside from a brief three minute period early in the game, Eastern New Mexico trailed for the vast majority of the game.

Tarleton guard Ridell Camidge scored 12 points in the first half, including hitting two three-point shots. Also hitting a big three was Deshawn Riddick whose basket gave Tarleton their biggest lead of the half, a 14 point 33-19 lead with the half winding down.

Eastern New Mexico couldn't slow down the Tarleton attack early in the second half either as the Texans extended their lead courtesy of a Romond Jenkins layup to what was their largest of the night, a 19 point 48-29 lead with a little less than 17 minutes remaining in the game.

While an almost 20 point lead may sound safe, Eastern New Mexico did manage to threaten later in the game.

The Greyhounds pulled off a 20-6 run from the 16 minute to 10 minute mark in the game to cut Tarleton's lead to only five.

While Eastern New Mexico's threat did appear serious, the Texans proved why they're regarded as one of the best teams in the country as they once against distanced themselves from their opponent with a double-digit lead before the final buzzer.

Leading Tarleton offensively was Ridell Camidge who finished with a team high 24 points and three rebounds. Also scoring in double digits was Chantz Chambers (12), Deshawn Riddick (19) and Romond Jenkins (15).

Tarleton is now 8-1 overall and 4-0 in LSC play. They're next scheduled contest is set for Wednesday when Southwestern Adventist will travel to Stephenville.
