The Tarleton State University Rec Center was hopping Wednesday night as a number of students and residents in the Stephenville community were in attendance to take part in the first ever Lonn Reisman Charity Knockout tournament.

Entrants competed in several rounds of intense knockout action before the final two were left standing in each heat. According to a press release, the finals will occur on Friday night at Tarleton basketball's annual 'Midnight Madness' event.

Prizes include a 50' inch television and Playstation 4.

All proceeds from the tournament's entry fee will go towards the Jimmy V Foundation.

The tournament was announced shortly after Tarleton State head basketball coach Lonn Reisman announced that he was diagnosed with colon cancer earlier this fall.

Reisman recently underwent successful surgery and was in attendance at the tournament Wednesday evening.
