Easton Jones signs with Tyler Junior College

Easton Jones, a three-year starter at quarterback for the Stephenville Yellow Jackets, signed a letter-of-intent Wednesday to attend Tyler Junior College and play football. Jones is pictured at the ceremony with his mother Pam, father Troy, and (standing) sister Kelcee and brother Dylan. Jones said he also plans to play baseball for the Apaches. He said he had also talked with Navarro College, Tarleton State and Northwest Oklahoma State before making his decision. Jones said he intends to major in kinesiology and his goal is to become a firefighter. Jones earned varsity letters three times in football, baseball and basketball, and intends to play baseball again this spring. Jones earned the 2017 Offensive Most Valuable Player award by vote of the coaches in District 3-4A, Division I. He was an honorable mention pick in the Class 4A-6A division on the Abilene Reporter-News All-Big Country football honor team for 2017. As a senior, Jones completed 61 percent of his passes, throwing for 3,083 yards and 35 touchdowns with just nine interceptions while helping lead the 12-3 Jackets to the state semifinals.
