Conlee earns LSC recognition
A walk-off home run in extra innings Monday night topped off a series for Katelyn Conlee that earned her a second LSC Hitter of the Week honor this season and of her career.
Conlee was spectacular for the TexAnns as the junior powered Tarleton State to its first series win and doubleheader sweep of Midwestern State since 2007. The left-handed slugger hit .643 in four games, going 9-14 at the dish, with three runs scored and eight RBIs.
Of her nine base hits on the weekend, five of them went for extra bases as Conlee ripped four doubles and a walk-off home run in the eighth inning of Monday night's series finale. Conlee led the team with a 1.143 slugging percentage for the weekend with 16 total bases in 14 at bats to go along with a walk and a .667 on-base percentage.
She is the first hitter to garner the weekly conference award multiple times this season.
Conlee and the TexAnns will return to action next weekend in San Angelo for a four-game series against the Rambelles, beginning Friday night at 5 p.m. at Mayer Field.
