'Jackets close tourney with loss to 6A Garland

Stephenville’s appearance at the weekend Crowley baseball tournament wound up with an 11-1 loss to Class 6A Garland Saturday evening.

After going 2-2 on their first four games, the Yellow Jackets were limited to just three hits and committed six errors in the tournament loss.

Ben Martin, and Josh Olivan each rapped a hit for the Jackets. Sam Weber got the only extra-base hit, a double.

Stephenville returns to action Tuesday with a road trip to Lorena. The Yellow Jackets are back home Friday to face Waco Robinson on a non-district meeting, followed by a matchup against Ranger Junior College’s JV on March 24.

They open District 6-4A competition at home March 27 against Mineral Wells.
