'Jackets, 'Bees post identical 4-0 wins

Four different players scored for the Yellow Jackets’ Friday night as Stephenville posted a 4-0 District 4-4A soccer victory over Mineral Wells.

Felipe Espinoza hit the back of the net off a Brandon Mayo assist, and Tino Rocha, Nico Madrid and Santi Gallego also connected for goals against the Rams.

With the win, Stephenville improves to 13-9-1 on the year and 5-4 within District 4-4A.

The Honeybees were also victorious Friday night and by the exact score as in the boys game.

The ‘Bees 4-0 loop win over the Lady Rams lifts them to 13-3-1 on the campaign and 7-2 against 4-4A opposition.

Taking Spring Break off, the SHS boys soccer team sees its next action at Abilene Wylie on March 17. The ‘Jackets visit Brownwood on March 20 to wind up the regular season.

Stephenville’s girls host Abilene Wylie in their next outing, a loop matchup scheduled for March 17. Like the Yellow Jackets, the ‘Bees travel to Brownwood for their regular season finale.
