Seventh Bees run away from competition

The Henderson Junior High seventh grade girls are tearing up area cross country courses. The Honeybees won again at a meet at Hico's Bluebonnet Country Club with all five scoring runners finishing in the top 10.

The Bees blew away the competition with just 27 points. Second place Brock scored 79 and Comanche rounded out the top three with 102.

Kayliana Castillo and Alexis De Los Santos rushed to first and second place finishes to lead the way, and Natalie Elizondo was sixth, Calli Schmutz eighth and Briana Leos 10th. Destiny Guzman, Jasmene Delacerda, Ashely Ensminger, Meagan Lewis and Nalley Martinez also ran for the Bees.

The junior high boys ran as a combined team and placed fifth with 103 points. All five runners were in the top 40.

Brandon Dark was sixth overall, Dante Flores was 10th, Dylan Sims 19th, Augustine Camuzzi 29th and Chandler Wells 39th. Also running were Logan Kirk, Dominic Taschler and Bunker Funderburgh.

The eighth grade Bees had just four runners, but that didn't stop Tiffany Cox from bringing home another individual championship. Behind her was Hailey Sieperda in 11th while Kimberly Alvarez and Micah Rainey also ran.
