E-T Staff Report
Brock Holt

Stephenville native Brock Holt made the most of his first weekend in the Major League, walking and scoring a run in his debut with the Pittsburgh Pirates Saturday night before starting at second base and going 2-for-5 with an RBI on Sunday.

Holt was called up after collecting 34 hits and bating .440 from Aug. 7-29 for Triple-A Indianapolis.

The Pirates lost both games to Milwaukee over the weekend and now trail the defending World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals by 1.5 games and the Los Angeles Dodgers by one for the final wild card spot in the National League.

Holt’s first game in Pittsburgh was Monday when the Pirates began a three-game series against the Houston Astros.
