CTFAC hosting bronze exhibit
Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council is hosting "Life Captured in Bronze" by local artist and sculptor Mary Rush Waters at its River North Gallery, 204 River North Blvd.
Experience Waters' impressive artwork and also learn about the process involved in creating bronze sculptures.
The exhibit is on display through Oct. 31 with a special artist reception scheduled for 4:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, at the River North Gallery.
The exhibit and reception are open and free to the public.

Patton to perform at Hearsay
Sanglier Cellars and the Ranch 95.9 FM will host a performance by Courtney Patton at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Hearsay Wine Bar, 270 W. College St.
A wine tasting will begin at 6 p.m. followed by the live music.

Garage sale benefit set for Morning Star Ranch
A garage sale benefit for Morning Star Ranch is scheduled for Thursday and Friday at Riata Storage Unit near 281-67 at 137 Private Road 1111. The sale is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day.
Morning Star Ranch is a faith-based riding center for children.
There will be three storage units full of items for sale including: washer/dryer, clothes, boots, dinner table/chairs, house/kitchen items, books, and puzzles.

Field of Gold Release Party set
Hearsay Wine Bar, 270 W College St., is hosting the Field of Gold Release Party from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7.
There will be samplings of wines from the new label Fields of Gold, including a chardonnay and cabernet.
Fields of Gold honors owner Drew Roberson's son Ryan, who passed away from Ewing's sarcoma in 2019. Each bottle sells for $9.99, and for every bottle sold, $1 is donated to the Little Warrior Foundation, an organization dedicated to finding a cure for childhood cancer.

Tarleton presents 'Voices of Jazz'
Tarleton State University and the Tarleton Jazz Ensemble I for are scheduled to present "Voices of Jazz" at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center, corner of North Lillian and West Vanderbilt streets.
The concert will be conducted by Dr. Andrew Stonerook and featuring vocalists from the Tarleton Department of Fine Arts.
Tickets are $5 for general admission and free for students.

Exhibit features work by Caylor
Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council will celebrate the works of local Texas impressionistic and western artist Audrey Caylor.
Caylor is well known for her oil and acrylic paintings, which are often inspired by her studio view of Texas Hill Country.
The exhibit is currently on display at Clark Regional Airport, 1050 Airport Road, Stephenville.
The exhibit will be on display through Oct. 9.

Little Authors plans grand re-opening
In honor of its one-year anniversary, Little Authors in Dublin is hosting a grand re-opening from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9.
There will be a prize wheel, a showcase of new products, and more.

Master Gardeners host plant sale
Texas Master Gardeners will be hosting a plant sale at Bygone Days at the Stephenville Historical House Museum, 525 E. Washington St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9.
The sale will include native Texas plants and garden accessories. Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer plant questions.

Lipan mercantile marks 20 years
Texas Hill Country Furniture and Mercantile, 19280 S. Highway 281, Lipan, is hosting a 20th anniversary celebration from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9.
There will be extra vendors, a bounce house for kids, live music, door prizes, and a free lunch of smoked sausage, beans, and cornbread. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This outdoors youth event will have speakers, games, and more.

The Prairie Oaks Master Naturalists will be at the Bosque River Trail Nature Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9, for Nature Fest.

Parks and Rec hosting Fright Night Picture Show
Stephenville Parks and Rec is hosting a Fright Night Picture Show at the City Park on Oct. 14.
They will have free showings of "Hocus Pocus" at 7 p.m. and The Grudge at 8:45 p.m. at Birdsong Amphitheater.

Parks and Rec hosting new program
Stephenville Parks and Recreation is hosting a new program called Littles Creation Station monthly on selected dates.
Children and parents will participate in a themed craft/aligned with the current month's theme.
October's Creation Station will feature a spooktacular pumpkin painting and decorating activity at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 14. Cost is $5 and all supplies will be provided.

A bake sale benefiting the Erath County Humane Society is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 16 at Walmart.

The Chicken House Flea Market and 4 Elite Auto Sales & Detailing are hosting a Car Show and Swap Meet on Friday, Oct. 15 through Sunday, Oct. 17.
The flea market is located at 8080 Highway 377 South, Dublin.
The Swap Meet will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Car Show will only be Saturday and Sunday.

Calling all creators, designers, and artists
The 56th Annual Arts & Crafts Fair is scheduled for Nov. 5 and 6 at the Stephenville Recreation Hall, 378 W. Long St.
Gym floor and bleacher booth spaces are $45 (provided will be one 6' X 30" table and a chair).
Covered outdoor pavilion spaces are $75 (10' X 10' space - you will provide your own table and chair).
Vendors will be able to set up booths/spaces on Thursday, Nov. 4 from 4-7 p.m. Doors will be locked at 7 p.m. On Friday, Nov. 5, set up times will be from 8-11 a.m.
Show times are as follows: Friday, Nov. 5 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Overnight security will be provided.

Lions hosting free vision screening
The Stephenville Lions Club is providing free vision screenings for ages 1 year and older and all adults for signs of the need for glasses, lazy eye, cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic and hypertensive retinopathy.
The screening is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at Oakdale United Methodist Church, 2675 W. Overhill Drive.

Legion Post 240 selling raffle tickets
Turbow-Higgs American Legion Post 240 is hosting its annual raffle fundraiser.
Legionnaires are selling raffle tickets for $10 each or 11 tickets for $100. Tickets can be delivered.
The raffle is for a Colt LE6920 M4 rifle.
In order to purchase tickets, individuals must be legally eligible to own or purchase a firearm.
The winner need not be present to win, but must be present to claim the rifle.
The winning ticket will be drawn on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
