TSU Media Relations

The Upward Bound Program at Tarleton State University is accepting applications from area high school students who are eligible for and interested in participating in a college preparatory program.

To be eligible for Upward Bound, students must be in the ninth or 10th grade and attend Stephenville, Lingleville, Huckabay, Dublin, De Leon, Comanche, Gustine or Iredell high schools. Students also must be potential first-generation college students or meet program income guidelines.

Program services include tutoring, academic advising, cultural enrichment activities and overall assistance needed to promote success at the high school level. Upward Bound also provides tutoring for college entrance exams, college and career exploration, and assistance with college application and financial aid processes.

The goal of the Upward Bound Program is to increase the rate at which participants complete high school and enroll in and graduate from college.
