Local businesses affiliated with the Stephenville Downtown Merchants Association are sprucing up their stores just in time for Friday’s holiday open house.

“We are kicking off the holiday season with this wonderful event,” said KayLee Pemberton, president of the association. “Each business will stay open late and offer refreshments, giveaways and special promotions. They are all doing something different so we encourage everyone to visit all of the participating stores.”

The event will be held from 5:30-8 p.m.

The Blue-Eyed Buffalo is one of several stores taking part in the event and will be serving white Christmas margaritas. Other stores include Slim Pickins Outfitters, Willow’s Scarlet Ribbon, Scott’s Flowers on the Square, Thousand Miles, Silver Wings, Punchy’s and Julianne’s.

“We will be serving cheese and crackers and other refreshments,” said James Kimbel, co-owner of Scott’s. “The store will be in perfect shape with lots of holiday inspiration. We will also have a sale on our Christopher Radko ornaments.”

Laurie Gaiser, owner of Willow’s, will also be dishing up delicious holiday treats and refreshments to customers.

“We will have a drawing for a basket that will include a gift certificate and Consuela products,” Gaiser said. “This is a great event and I love that we are all doing it together. The Stephenville Downtown Merchants Association is doing some wonderful things.”
