An undercover purchase of marijuana led to the arrest of a 21-year-old Stephenville man on Tuesday.

Frank Darden, 21, was arrested and charged with delivery of marijuana, after selling 7 grams of marijuana to an undercover officer on two separate occasions.

“We received a tip that (Darden) was selling,” said Sgt. Ben Moore with the Erath County Sheriff’s Office. “So our undercover (officer) made a buy from him in the middle of last week and again Tuesday.”

The transactions took place at an apartment complex near Tarleton State University, but Darden is not a student, Moore said.

“Because the purchase was made within 1,000 feet of Tarleton and that’s a drug-free zone, the charge is enhanced to a third-degree felony,” Moore said.

Darden was released from the Erath County Jail after posting a $10,000 bond.
