5 things to do this weekend

The weekend is approaching with some great events, including fundraisers benefiting local organizations and youth. Make it a good one!

1. CNB Customer Appreciation Day

Get a free gift and enter for a chance to win $1,500 at Citizen National Bank’s Customer Appreciation Day from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday. Appreciation days will also be held on May 11, June 15 and July 6 and include monthly $150 branch drawings and more than $10,000 in cash giveaways.

2. SHS Choir Booster fundraiser

Head to Woods Furniture Friday and Saturday and help raise money for the Stephenville High School choir. A portion of all purchases made from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. will be donated to the SHS Booster Club.

3. Upland Bird Extravaganza dinner and auction

Enjoy a nice dinner and bid on some wonderful auction items at the 23rd annual Evening Lions Club Upland Bird Extravaganza dinner and auction starting at 5 p.m. Friday at City Hall at City Limits. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door. Last year’s event raised $220,000 for area youth. Donations are made to several organizations including the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Stephenville Education Foundation and Backpack Buddies.

4. SHS Decades Dash

Lace up those running shoes and get ready for the Decades Dash 5K benefiting the Stephenville High School theatre department at 9 a.m. Saturday on the Bosque River Trail. The run will feature stations along the trail that will take you back in time or into the future. Pre-registration is $25 and can be done at racedayevents.com. Race day registration is $30.

5. CCC Car Show at Bruner GM

If you’re a fan of cars, don’t miss the annual Christian Classic Cruisers Car Show from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the Bruner Auto GM location. The event is free and proceeds from car registrations go to Choices Clinic & Life Resource Center. Awards will be presented for a variety of categories.
