Sundown on the Square committee members accepted a $5,000 donation from H-E-B Wednesday that will go directly to the Stephenville Historical House Museum.

“We’re very grateful to H-E-B for giving is this extraordinary donation,” committee member Marion Cole said. “One of our committee members, Dianne Wilson, wrote the grant to HEB for this award so we give her all the credit.”

The funds will go toward keeping the museum lively and preserving its many buildings and artifacts.

“We appreciate H-E-B’s continued support. They’ve been very generous this year,” Wilson said. “The money supports the museum. There’s always something that needs to get done.”

H-E-B makes many donations throughout the year supporting local causes and events, something that unit director Casie McCauley said is important.

“At H-E-B, our communities are important to us,” she said. “We are passionate about giving back to those we serve.”

The Sundown on the Square event will take place from 5-9 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, in downtown Stephenville with proceeds also benefiting the museum.
