The weekend is here with some great happenings in the area. Make it a good one, and TGIF!

1. Free kids clothes exchange

If you’re looking to donate those clothes the kiddos have outgrown, get over to Cornerstone Assembly from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Saturday for a free kids clothes exchange. Those dropping off are asked to bring 4T-teen sizes and that is what will be available for those who want to take clothing. You do not have to donate clothing in order to receive free clothes.

2. Pint Night on the Patio

Calling all beer lovers! Enjoy a Revolver beer tasting while listening to live jazz music from 5-7 p.m. tonight at City Limits. Admission is $7.50 and a $5 appetizer menu will be available. A discounted group rate will be available for businesses bringing 10 or more guests and for more information visit

3. Escape the summer heat

The weekend temperatures are expected to stay in the 90s, so if you’re looking to take a break from the steamy summer gather up the kids and make a trip to Splashville or catch a flick in the cool AC of Cinemark Cinema 6. Splashville will be open from 12-7 p.m. today and Saturday, and 1-6 p.m. Sunday. Movies showing this weekend include, The Secret Life of Pets, Star Trek Beyond, Ghostbusters, Ice Age: Collision Course, Finding Dory and The Legend of Tarzan.
