Accident claims life of Tarleton student
A young woman from Burleson who died Thursday afternoon in a single-car accident on U.S. Hwy. 67 has been identified as Hannah Russell, 21; a Tarleton State University student.
According to the DPS accident report, Russell was driving a 2002 Silver Honda and was traveling west on U.S. Hwy. 67 towards Stephenville when the crash occurred.
“For some unknown reason the vehicle drove off the right side of the roadway and up onto a guardrail,” the report states. “The vehicle rolled multiple times ejecting the driver.”
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene by Justice of the Peace Shawnee Bass.
“The crash is still under investigation as to the cause/reason why she drove off the roadway,” Dub Gillum, Texas Highway Patrol staff sergeant, released in an email.
State Trooper Doug Acker is investigating the accident.
