SEDA to discuss grants, budget today

The Stephenville Economic Development Authority will meet at 11:30 a.m. today in the City Hall training room.

At the top of the agenda is consideration of two grant proposals that could benefit economic development in our area.

According to SEDA executive director, John R. Hubbard, “The first is a Workforce Development Grant in the amount of $10,000 to benefit the Skills Development Fund Grant and courses at Ranger College.”

The second is a $650 grant to Erath County for infrastructure improvements at the courthouse square, specifically for additional electrical outlets around the square so vendors can plug in when they’re working at special events such as Sundown on the Square.

Other agenda items include:

• An agreement with Brown Hofmeister, LLP for legal services

• Professional services agreements for the SEDA website and logo design

• Consideration of approval of policy documents including Conflict of Interest and Verification, Operating Policy

• Discussion re: 2016-17 fiscal year budget.
