Police: Investigation into Pizza Hut crash not over

Pizza Hut is back open following an accident that sent a car crashing through the establishment on Oct. 28 - and a week later there has still been no arrest.

"The case is still under investigation and we are working on the report," Stephenville Asst. Police Chief Jason Halsey said Wednesday.

Erica Rane Bowling, 20, was the driver of the 2006 Nissan Altima that crashed through the building just before the lunch rush, slightly injuring one Pizza Hut employee.

Bowling fled the scene and was later arrested at a residence on Groesbeck Street.

Halsey said the case is expected to be presented to District Attorney Alan Nash's office on Friday.

"This case is not over and it's not closed," Halsey said. "We just want to make sure we have everything in order before we present the case to the district attorney."
