Gordon Center to host ‘Museum After Dark’ scavenger hunt

Special to the E-T

Gather your friends and flashlights! Tarleton State University’s W.K. Gordon Center for Industrial History of Texas will host its second “Museum After Dark!” event on Saturday, March 28.

The flashlight scavenger hunt, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., is free and open to the public and is appropriate for all ages.

Museum After Dark! will be a scavenger hunt throughout the museum located in Texas’ most famous ghost town. Participants will earn points by following clues to discover hidden artifacts and completing tasks, such as playing period Thurber games and posing in themed photo booths. Prizes will be awarded to the teams or individual with the most points at the end of the scavenger hunt. All those attending will receive a door prize.

Light refreshments will be served at the historic Snake Saloon bar in the museum’s gift shop.

Transportation to the museum in Thurber from the Tarleton Stephenville campus will be made available on a limited first-come, first-served basis for Tarleton students. Reservations for a seat on the shuttle may be made by calling 254-968-1886 or by emailing sadams@tarleton.edu no later than Wednesday, March 25.
