Hurrah for Morgan Mill!

Please help support the Morgan Mill 4H club by participating in The Farm Bureau Food Drive. The 4H club with the most donations will receive a monetary donation from Farm Bureau Insurance. Any non-perishable food item is needed. All donations will go directly to our local food pantry. All the food donations have to be turned in by Wednesday, April 1. You can drop off items in Morgan Mill at the School, Community Center, or MM Baptist Church. You may contact Elizabeth Starnes at 592-2000 for more information, or if you need your donation picked up.

If you are in a need for a chocolate fix, the girls from Morgan Mill School are selling chocolate bars for $2. The money is going to help pay for the uniforms of the cheerleaders and drill team. The time for selecting the next year’s cheerleaders and drill team is fast approaching. Go by the school, someone will be able to supply you with chocolate.

If you were at the last Community Supper, you were charmed by the 4H kids and their ribbons and awards that they received at the area 4H shows. One of the soups that everyone wanted the recipe for was the Green Chile Enchilada Soup. From the kitchen of Michelle Rudloff : 4 chicken breasts cooked and shredded, 2 cans of chicken broth, 2- 15 oz. cans of mild green enchilada sauce, 2 -4 oz. cans diced green chiles, 2/3 cup water, 1 ½ TB cumin, 1 TB chili powder, 1 tsp. onion powder, 1 tsp. garlic powder. Put the preceding ingredients in a crock pot on High for 3-5 hours. After cooking, add 2/3 cup of corn thawed if frozen, 2/3 cup instant rice, and 1 -8 oz. bar of cream cheese softened and cubed. Stir and cook for half hour. Add salt and pepper to taste and top with Monterrey Jack Cheese. It was great seeing the kids and their parents at the supper.

The Community Supper this week, Thursday, March 19, will have Dove and Diane Martin as entertainers. Her interpretation of “Cool Waters” has always gotten rave responses. Bring your favorite pot luck dish and come and enjoy with your neighbors. The meal begins at 6:30.

Reminders of the continuing activities in MM at the Community Center: coffee club Monday through Saturday at 7 am., exercise Monday-Wednesday-Friday at 6:45 am., line dancing at 9 am on Tuesdays and Thursdays, line dancing on Wednesdays at 10 am., Community Supper at 6:30 on first and third Thursdays, and Breakfast on second Saturdays.
