Weekend rain pushes November above average
Much of North Texas enjoyed a soggy start to the weekend when thunderstorms stuck around all day Saturday, dumping a significant amount of rain across the area.
The rain event began late Friday night and moved out about 24 hours later. When it was all said and done, Stephenville received 2.55 inches of rain, making November the first month of the year to receive an above average rain total.
"The rains on Friday and Saturday were significant for Stephenville," said local weather watcher Dr. Stuart Chilton. "The two-day rains registered 1.01 inches on Friday and 1.54 inches on Saturday. These two rains increased November rains to 4.57 inches."
The average rainfall in November is 2.10 inches.
Other areas in the county also received a significant amount of rain.

Linda Stewart received two inches on Pigeon Road, Sena Leese reported four inches on Hwy. 108, Trey Small got 1.6 inches between Huckabay and Morgan Mill, Don Berry reported three inches on 3025, Dorothy Brown Hoffman reported 2.25 inches in Dublin and Jon Koonsman reported two inches in Selden.
