Michael Ray Davis, native of Duffau, Hico High graduate and Tarleton State University ex has the lead in the thriller "Come Morning" scheduled to make it's official premiere at the Austin Film Festival in Austin on Oct. 21 at the Bob Bullock Museum and IMAX Theater. Written and directed by Arkansas native Derrick Sims, "Come Morning" follows a boy and his grandfather during the 15 hours following a tragic hunting accident. Davis, now living in Orlando, FL was contacted by the writer/director online, Sims having viewed his work on line and the two were instantly connected. Shooting took place in Arkansas, mostly filmed at night in harsh terrain, featuring swamp areas, dense tree population and a hoard of mosquitoes, intent on giving the film a different ending. 13 days of 18 hour shoots produced a film worthy of higher budgets and Davis says, "The hardest film I've ever worked on in my 20 years in the business, but I would do it all over again."
