The Knights of Columbus are fairly well known for their ability to fry fish to perfection.

The group is also known for raising money - lots of it - for charitable causes in Erath County and having lots of fun while doing it.

And now, they're back at it.

The organization is preparing to host its biggest fundraiser of the year on Saturday, Oct. 6, at Bella Vita Ranch. The event will be similar to the ones held in years past known as "Hot Summer Knights," but the great food and good times will be the same.

"This is our big annual charity fundraiser," said Dan Delgado, one of the event coordinators. "It's going to be a lot of fun."

The event will begin with a social hour at 6 p.m. followed by a dinner of beef tenderloin, wine, beer and dessert, a live auction and dancing until midnight.

Proceeds from the event will be used to help a variety of local needs.

"In the past we have spent money for wildfire relief and helped transform a disabled veteran's home into one that is handicapped accessible," Delgado said. "Last year, we helped a woman with a spinal cord injury. The money is used where it's needed."

Open seating for non-reserved tables are $125 per person. Reserved tables of 8 are $1,000.

Tickets can be purchased from any Knights member or by calling Delgado at 254-592-3807.
