Jazz ensembles to perform with featured vocalists

The Department of Fine Arts will present a special concert featuring Tarleton’s two jazz ensembles along with several vocalists at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, in the Clyde H. Wells Fine Arts Center auditorium.

Tarleton’s Jazz Ensembles I and II along with featured vocalists will take the stage for their first concert of the fall 2012 semester. The ensembles are under the direction of Greg Ball, assistant professor of music.

The community is invited to the concert, which will include well-known songs such as They Can’t Take That Away From Me, I’ve Got You Under My Skin, All of Me, and Nice and Easy. Performing vocals are: T-Kaye Arruda, David Ball, Jenny Dryer, Jacob Humphries, Jake Kassen, Michael Little, Ashley Morrison, Mackenzy Rogers, Zach Steel, Amanda Taylor, Macie Unzicker and Kelly Wolff.

Tickets are $5 for adults or free for students, faculty and staff with a valid Tarleton ID. All seating is general admission and tickets will be available at the Fine Arts Box Office.

Prior to the concert the Department of Fine Arts will host a coffee and dessert reception at 6:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center gallery.
