Kaylee Raye Cagle, who had been missing since Saturday, Aug. 15, was found unharmed on Monday, Aug. 24, in Hurst.

Officers with the Hurst Police Department responded to a tip and located Kaylee at a residence. At this time the exact circumstances of her recovery remain under investigation.

Kaylee was reported missing by her dad on Aug. 15, who said she was last seen at midnight on Friday, Aug. 14.

Kaylee, 13, has a history of running away and was also reported missing on July 6, 2019. She was safely located in San Antonio a short time later inside the apartment of then 18-year-old Hakeem Ismaaeel Abdulrahim, a man she had reportedly met online.

“We have located her once before,” said Sgt. Jeremy Lanier with the Stephenville Police Department.

As previously reported by the E-T, Abdulrahim came to Stephenville last year and picked Kaylee up from an Allsup’s convenience store closest to her house.

Abdulrahim was taken into custody and was charged with harboring a runaway and online solicitation of a minor, a second-degree felony.

Lanier confirmed there is speculation that Kaylee might have gone back to San Antonio to meet up with Abdulrahim.

“That’s an avenue that we are investigating. He has been interviewed,” he told the E-T.

Lanier confirmed that Abdulrahim, now 20, has been taken into custody on an outstanding warrant and is currently being held at the Adult Detention Center in Bexar County.

Investigators with the Stephenville and Hurst Police Departments will continue to investigate the incident and file criminal charges as appropriate for those involved.

“We would like to thank the Hurst Police Department for their prompt response and for all those that have provided information in this case. The outpouring of concern from our community is what truly makes Stephenville and Erath County a great place to live,” the Stephenville Police Department press release states.
