Drake among 10 people indicted

A man who was arrested in Oklahoma in February and accused of threatening to kill his girlfriend’s mother — an Erath County resident — was among 10 people indicted by the Erath County June grand jury.

Justin Dwayne Drake, believed by authorities to be connected to the Irish mob, was taken into custody by a task force in Shawnee, Oklahoma, on a felony warrant issued by the Erath County Sheriff’s Office. Drake was 30 years old at the time.

Lieutenant Ben Moore with the Erath County Sheriff’s Office was quoted at the time as saying, “Due to his gang affiliation, which he openly admits, and the history of the Irish mob in Oklahoma and the crimes they have committed, we couldn’t take any chances with an Erath County citizen getting hurt or killed.”

According to investigators, the case stemmed from phone calls Drake had with his girlfriend, Chelsea Wolfe. She is accused of beating her mother in a violent attack last November, and was charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and unlawful restraint.

“He was mad that her mother wouldn’t drop the charges,” Moore stated.

A Feb. 12 ET article about his arrest stated that Drake was recorded telling Wolfe on Jan. 30, “If I have to, I’ll go bury your mom, you know that right?”

Also according to investigators, Drake said in a separate conversation, “I stabbed my dad seven times, he didn’t testify, charges dropped,” and was recorded several times saying, “No witness, no case.”

Local authorities were having to wait on Drake’s extradition from Oklahoma to Texas.
