LJT canceled until 2021
Fans of the annual Larry Joe Taylor Texas Music Festival were devastated to hear that the April event was postponed until October. Unfortunately, the Taylor family and crew released another update on their Facebook page on Tuesday, stating that the event would be pushed back again until 2021.
For 31 years, the LJT fest has been a staple in Erath County, bringing thousands of Texas country music lovers to Melody Mountain Ranch every spring for several days of fun, music and a great party.
But for the first time in 31 years, an entire year will have gone by without the excitement of the popular country music festival.
“When we announced our postponement back in April, we thought there would be some positive development in the months ahead and fully expected for the pandemic to be past us by October. We also were pretty confident back then that we would have some answers and reliable information that would allow us to safely move forward with such a large event for our fans, artists, sponsors and staff,” the Taylor family and crew wrote in an update to their fans. “Unfortunately, this is not the case. We have struggled to find ways to produce the festival while minimizing the risk to everyone who attends, but considering the known crowd size and the lack of credible data we have today about COVID-19, we are unable to provide the adequate safety and management structure of this event in October.”
LJT Fest will instead be pushed back until April 19-24, 2021.
Those who have purchased tickets should have received an email regarding options moving forward. The lineup for April 2021 will be announced next week and tickets for next year’s event are available now at www.larryjoetaylor.com.
“Producing live music events is something we genuinely love, and we are sincerely missing it, and especially missing all of you,” their update reads. “We believe our Texas music scene is strong and unique in many ways, and are fully committed to bringing you a fantastic LJT experience. We look forward to getting back to work, making LJT 2021 the best one yet. See you all on The Mountain in April.”
