COVID-19 update: New daily high reported Saturday; 78 total, 58 active
A new daily high of positive coronavirus cases was reported for Erath County on Saturday, June 20, with the county reporting 72 total cases of the virus and 52 active cases. With more cases being confirmed the following days, the total number of coronavirus cases is now at 78 with 58 active.
There are now three total hospitalizations association with the virus in Erath County.
“While we all expected a hike after re-opening, it’s still a bit of a shock when cases double in one week (Monday we started with +/-36 cases),” said Erath County Judge Alfonso Campos. “At the same time, our number of hospitalizations is stable so it's good to know that most people are getting over it on their own.”
Campos released a breakdown on the updated cases Saturday afternoon.
The top two age groups in the county who tested positive for the virus are individuals ages 20-29 with 28 cases and ages 40-64 with 20 cases.
There are 37 males and 35 females who tested positive for COVID-19.
