CTFAC art exhibit to feature works of Texas artist Jane Hickie
September 28, 2020, STEPHENVILLE, Texas - The Cross Timbers Fine Arts Council invites you to come join the fun and “Express Yourself! by Painting on Paper Outdoors”, from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4 at their River North Gallery.
Release your inner artist at this totally outdoor, socially distanced, exhibit based on big abstractions by Texas artist, Jane Hickie, (from her recent showing with 500X Gallery in Dallas).
Five large pieces of Hickie’s artwork will be displayed outside the CTFAC River North Gallery building. Guests will be provided with paint, paint brushes and their own large pad of paper (which will also be hanging outside on the building) so they can create their very own piece of art.
There will be food and drink with live music provided by Sam Lopez and Stacey Slinger of Immediate Blues Band. Fisher Rinderknecht, of Flight Reach Productions, will also be on hand to take photos of guest’s work to showcase in CTFAC’s virtual gallery.
Executive Director, Christine Newton said CTFAC is thrilled to have such a unique event.
“You don’t have to be a professional artist to participate, just bring your great sense of fun, we provide the rest. It’s safe, silly, for all ages to enjoy and its free to the public,” Newton said.
She is also looking forward to seeing Hickie’s artwork outside on the CTFAC building.
“These are very large, vibrant paintings and her work is amazing,” Newton said.
The project is supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Texas Commission on the Arts and by the generosity of Jane Hickie, Scott’s Flowers on the Square and Flight Reach Productions.
