TSU to honor spring and summer 2020 graduates

Tarleton State University will honor summer and spring 2020 graduates during in-person commencement ceremonies from Aug. 7-9 at Memorial Stadium on the Stephenville campus.

Tarleton President James Hurley will preside over five ceremonies honoring about 2,000 spring and summer graduates. Spring ceremonies were originally scheduled to take place in May but were postponed due to COVID-19.

The schedule of ceremonies is listed below:

•8 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7 (College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, College of Health Sciences and Human Services)

•8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 7 (College of Business Administration)

•8 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8 (College of Education)

•8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8 (College of Science and Technology, College of Liberal and Fine Arts)

•8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9 (College of Graduate Studies)

Attendance is limited to eight guests per graduate. Graduates received tickets to share with family and friends earlier this summer.

The university will enforce physical distancing guidelines and Gov. Greg Abbott’s Executive Order requiring all people in counties with 20 or more active COVID-19 cases to wear face coverings in public. Graduates and their guests should bring their own.

In accordance with CDC guidance, all graduates and guests should monitor their daily health and check their temperature prior to traveling to campus. Graduates or guests with COVID-19 symptoms, should watch the ceremony via live stream. Those considered high- risk also should watch online.
