CASA for the Cross Timbers area welcomes 3 new staff members

Special to the E-T

STEPHENVILLE, TEXAS: This year CASA for the Cross Timbers Area (CASA CTA) has welcomed three new staff members to their organization.

Mindy Wooley was named Executive Director in January. Wooley follows former Executive Director, Judy Walker, who served as CASA CTA’s Executive Director for the last nine years. Wooley brings a broad financial background, experience with non-profits and a heart for community involvement to CASA CTA.

In addition to Wooley, CASA CTA has also welcomed two other members.

Leighann “Lily” Hutcheson, a Tarleton State University graduate, will serve as the Outreach and Development Coordinator. Lily’s experience in the non-profit sector, as well as her educational background in communication studies and public relations will aid the program in recruiting new volunteers and sharing CASA’s mission with the community.

Isabel Talamantes, a Stephenville native, has taken on the role of Advocacy Supervisor for CASA CTA. Talamantes understands the non-profit sector as a result of her educational background in social work and having a Masters in Communication Studies.

Wooley mentions, “We are so excited to welcome both Lily and Isabel to CASA CTA. These ladies bring energy, enthusiasm and have a commitment to raise awareness and serve the children and families in the counties we represent.”

Although many non-profits nationally and in our area are experiencing unchartered waters, CASA CTA is grateful to have the direction and guidance from CASA’s Program Director, Holli Isham. Through the continued change of rules and regulations from our court system, Isham has successfully ensured that the needs of the children and families served are met. Because of the global pandemic, many CASA advocates have not had the opportunity to continue in-person visits with the children they serve. However, our advocates have been creative in coming up with ideas that keep our children engaged and on task. Our staff here at CASA CTA would like to commend and appreciate the continued efforts and dedication of our volunteer advocates.

The vision of Texas CASA is “a safe and positive future for all Texas children”. If you agree with this vision and would like to find out more ways to volunteer to help the children in our community please call Lily Hutcheson at (254)434-7583 or email at
