OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A winter storm is moving across Texas and Oklahoma, bringing ice and the threat of heavy snow and making travel difficult.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning through Friday morning for a large swath from north Texas, across southwestern Oklahoma and through central Oklahoma.

Road departments in both states say travel is dangerous, including on Interstate 35 from Oklahoma City to Dallas and along I-40 in the Oklahoma City area.

The weather service says travel conditions will worsen during the day Thursday with up to 0.2 of an inch of ice expected, followed by 4 to 8 inches of snow in the region.
