US postal worker found fatally shot in mail truck in Dallas

DALLAS (AP) — Dallas police say a U.S. Postal Service worker has been found shot to death inside a mail truck along a busy highway.

A Dallas police statement says officers shortly before 2:30 a.m. Monday responded to reports of a shooting along Interstate 30. Police discovered the postal truck driver was dead inside the government vehicle in a case being investigated as a homicide.

Police say no one has been arrested in connection with the shooting near downtown Dallas. The U.S. Postal Service operates a large complex nearby.

Police are investigating a possible motive for the slaying. The victim's name wasn't immediately released.
