The Stephenville City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. tonight to discuss filling the position of interim city administrator following the retirement of Pat Bridges last Friday.

With the recent retirement of former Stephenville City Administrator Pat Bridges, the city council will meet tonight to address the vacancy and discuss an interim replacement.

According to an unnamed source on the city council, in the absence of an interim city administrator, long-serving city secretary Cindy Stafford is acting in that role.

Director of Community Services, Jeremy Allen, has been mentioned as a possible interim city administrator and he has previously expressed his willingness to serve if the council requests that he do so.

However, at last week’s meeting, there were some council members who wanted to take a look at someone outside city government who has served in an interim city administrator elsewhere before.

No other candidates have been reported to the E-T at the time this article was being written.

The Stephenville City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. tonight at City Hall to address the vacancy further.
