Milling Around

Hurrah for Morgan Mill!

You may have noticed the stage being assembled on the Community Center’s porch.  It is time for the thirteenth annual live Nativity in Morgan Mill. It does seem like a long time ago when the first Nativity was staged at the Tabernacle.  I think that had to be the coldest one in its thirteen year history.

The next year it was moved to the new Community Center and it has continued to grow each year.

The new characters this year are Shepard, Frank Vierman; Centurian, Dustin Richards; Wise Man, Calvin Spindor; Angel, Randi Elston; Inn Keeper, Tomias Markanthony; Inn Keeper’s daughter, Corinne Buchanan, and Joseph, Bryan Barto.  Some of last year characters will be returning; John Moore, Ken Broeder, Ken Stokes, and Lindsay Minix.  There will be other characters of angels, shepherds, and choir members that will be announced later.

If you want to sing in the choir, you will need to be at the dress rehearsal on Friday night, Dec. 16, at 5:30.  Angels and shepherds are also encouraged to attend dress rehearsal.  These parts are open to anyone who is interested.  The special music this year will be presented by the Morgan Mill Methodist Praise Team consisting of Rolan Garcia, Timothy Parker, Zephan Clevenger, Pam Bush, Sandi Wright, and Donna Washam.

The Morgan Mill Live Nativity Pageant has grown each year and the audience has increased to all areas surrounding Morgan Mill.  Many families and friends gather at this “reason for the season” event.  The weather may be cold so bring your blankets and hot cocoa will be provided.  Soup and sandwiches will be in the Community Center following the event.  Saturday night, (no bad weather day) December 17th at 5:30 is the place to be.

The annual Christmas Morgan Mill School music program is Thursday, Dec. 15, at 7 p.m. Both bands and choirs will be singing your favorite Christmas songs.  It is the time for Santa to come and visit the kids.  This is always a highlight of the school year.  The teachers and students of Morgan Mill are happy to announce that the junior high came in second in the UIL contest.  Lipan, who came in first, is twice the size of Morgan Mill.

Looking ahead to Christmas Eve, Morgan Mill Baptist Church will be having their service at 7 p.m. on the 24th and Morgan Mill Methodist will be having their candlelight service at 6 p.m.
