The Huckabay Indians pounded Strawn Tuesday, 68-28, for their second straight district win.
Sam Moon led all scorers with 22 points. Oscar Rodriguez added 12, and Marshall Carey had 11.
The Greyhounds were down just six points after the first quarter, 16-10, but Huckabay turned up the defense in the second. Strawn was outscored 13-5 in the second quarter, and Huckabay had a 14-point lead at halftime.
The Indians then broke the game wide open with a 29-point third, and cruised to victory in the fourth.
The Lady Indians lost another tough game, 43-31 to Strawn. Crimson Rich had nine points, and Kayla Schnaubert chipped in seven.
The Indian junior varsity blew out Strawn, 71-14. The Greyhounds managed no more than four points in any given quarter. Trenton Dixon had 27 points, Samuel Prieto had 17 and Jose Cordova and Benji Sanchez both added 10.
Huckabay heads to Moran tonight to continue District 17-A play. The Lady Indians tip off at 6:30 p.m., and the Indians follow at 8.
