Tarleton State has moved up one spot to No. 15 in the 100th weekly release of the American Football Coaches Association NCAA Division II football poll.
Tarleton was No. 16 in the AFCA poll last week before defeating Texas A&M-Commerce 24-7 in Stephenville Saturday.
Other Lone Star Conference members in the top 25 include No. 11 West Texas A&M, No. 13 Midwestern State and No. 17 Abilene Christian. All four schools are in the South Division of the conference. A fifth member of the South, Eastern New Mexico, missed breaking into the top 25 despite collecting 21 voting points.With four schools in the poll, the LSC is second only to the South Atlantic Conference with five.
Other teams in the poll from the Southwest Region include No. 4 Chadron State of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and No. 10 Northwest Missouri State, No. 19 Pittsburg St. and No. 24 Missouri Western State all of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
Tarleton has also moved up one spot to No. 16 in the D2Football.com media poll, and remains No. 7 in the College Sports Report poll.
