With the regular season complete in high school volleyball, Stephenville (23-15, 9-5) and Granbury (24-19, 9-5) are still deadlocked in a third-place tie in District 8-4A.

Both schools are playoff bound and the teams will play in Glen Rose at 5 p.m. Friday to determine the third and fourth seeds from the district.

The winner of the seeding match faces Fort Worth Arlington Heights (22-9, 16-2) in the opening round of the playoffs while the loser meets Fort Worth Dunbar (24-13, 16-2). Dunbar and Arlington Heights split the District 7-4A title with Dunbar claiming the No. 1 seed.

Joining Seguin, Stephenville and Granbury as playoff representatives from 8-4A is second-place Mansfield Legacy.

Stephenville split its two district matches with Granbury, winning in straight sets at home before falling in five on the road. Granbury held a one-game lead entering Tuesday’s finales, but the Lady Pirates fell to district champ Arlington Seguin in five sets, while the Honeybees coasted past fourth-place Timberview in three.

Christina Murphy recorded nine kills, nine assists and eight digs to lead the Bees past Timberview 25-17, 25-23, 25-21.

Murphy posted a .321 hitting percentage while Bailey Williams had eight kills and hit .333 and Kaylee Davis tallied five and hit .417.

Williams had two blocks defensively while Mara Christian and Kensie Colegrove led in digs with 10.

Rachel Choate tallied a team-high 15 assists.
