Four Tarleton State TexAnns picked up Lone Star Conference South Division postseason honors during the LSC Championship banquet on Tuesday in Bartlesville, Okla.

Junior center JoAnne Jones, who posted seven double-doubles this year, including two straight in do-or-die South Division battles to end the season, was named second-team All-South.  Jones, a junior from Arlington Bowie High School, leads Tarleton in both scoring and rebounding at 13.4 points and 7.0 boards per night.  During South action, her averages went up to 15.5 points and 7.8 rebounds.

Making the honorable mention list in the South was Tarleton's lone senior, D'Anna Dingler, sophomore Sonya Sundberg and freshman Shelby Adamson. 

Dingler, a three-year starter and four-year letter winner from Crowley, is averaging 10.8 points and 4.5 boards per outing this season.  Sundberg, who hails from Central High School in Keller, leads the TexAnns in assists with 113, and scored 8.4 points per night during the year, including 10.3 in South play.  She is also second on the team in steals with 51.  Adamson, a freshman who won two state titles at Rockwall High School, is scoring 10.6 points per night and leads the team in steals with 59.  She is also second in assists with 76.

In addition to her athletic honor, Sundberg was also recognized for her work in the classroom.  The exercise and sports studies major was named to the South Division All-Academic team.

Tarleton, 16-11 on the year, opened play in the Lone Star Conference Championship on Wednesday night, having faced North Division champ Central Oklahoma in the tournament quarterfinals.  A complete report will be published in the Friday edition of the Empire-Tribune.
