Losses cause shift in poll, but Jackets still on top of Class 4A

Stephenville is safe at the top, but losses down below have caused a major shake-up in the Associated Press Class 4A football poll, released Monday.
No. 2 La Marque was upset 27-24 by Texas City last week, while No. 6 Brownwood was stunned 25-22 by Killeen only one week after knocking off then No. 1 Copperas Cove.
Brownwood dropped out of the poll while La Marque fell to No. 9
Highland Park, Corpus Christi Calallen and Waco all moved up one spot on the list to fill the No. 2 - No. 4 slots.
Wichita Falls Rider jumped two spots to No. 5, while New Braunfels made the biggest jump this week by going from No. 9 to No. 6.
Copperas Cove moved up one place to No. 7, while Everman took two steps forward to No. 8.
No. 10 Kerville Tivy is the only new face on the list, replacing Brownwood,
