GRAHAM-Stephenville ended itís three match skid on the volleyball court by sweeping Graham in three straight games here Tuesday.
The Honeybees (2-3) stepped up their defensive game at the net, tallying 18 blocks, many of which landed directly for points.
Leading the block party was MaKayla Elliott with six. Just behind her was Kelsey Anglin with five and Christina Murphy with four. Anglin and Murphy each landed three of theirs for points in the 25-16, 25-16, 25-16 domination of GHS.
Sage Lasater once again led the team in digs with 13, while Elliott led all SHS servers with three aces.
Anglin knocked down seven kills in the match, while Elliott and Hilde Talsma each recorded six.
The Bees hit the road this wekend for their second tournament of the season. They join a field of 36 teams in the Fraulein Volleyfest Friday and Saturday in New Braunfels.
The first match for Stephenville will be served up at 9 a.m. Friday against Warren. The Bees will likely play three matches Friday, depending how the brackets play out.
Coach Fran Metzger and the Honeybees will play either Westlake or Harker Heights in the second round at 1 p.m., with the opponent to be determined by round one results.
