Richard Pringle won the 2007 club championship at Legends Country Club here last weekend, finishing the two-round event with a score of four-under-par 140. He was the only golfer to finish in red numbers.
Pringle was two-under-par in both rounds of the championship, completing the par-72 course in 70 strokes. He was five strokes clear of the field in the championship flight, as Mike Echols came in second with a one-over-par score of 145. Echols shot even-par 72 in round one, before scoring a 73 over the last 18 holes.
Behind Pringle and Echols in the championship flight, Robert Campbell was third with a three-over-par 147. Jesse Elliott and Joe Don Slawson each went five-over to tie for fourth, one stroke ahead of sixth-place Paul Golightly. Dennis Fulfer was seventh, finishing at nine-over.
In the women’s championship, Stephanie Traweek lapped the field, winning by 10 strokes. She scored a five-over-par 149 in two rounds.
