Last Saturday was a big night for local drivers at 281 Speedway, as racers from Dublin and Stephenville captured checkered flags.

Barrett Hutchison of Dublin finished second in his IMCA Hobby Stocks heat, but saved his best drive for the main event, speeding past Willie Kenley of Tolar and fellow Dublin driver James Bailey, who placed second and third, respectively.

David Feltner of Stephenville added a local win as he cruised his No. 8 car to victory lane in both the main event and his heat in the sport modified class.

Other Stephenville drivers also fared well last week, as Chase Noland and Jay Watts took second and third, respectively in the mini stocks feature, and Dennis Bissonette in his No. 07 car was third to cross the finish line in the main event of the stock car division.

Racing action continues Saturday at the speedway, located four miles north of Stephenville on U.S. Hwy 281.
