After a summer full of adversity for the Stephenville High School girls soccer program, Athletic Director Chad Morris has named Casey Wile the Honeybees’ head coach.

“He has a very strong soccer background,” Morris said of Wile. “I am excited about the direction our soccer program will take.”

Wile is a 1998 graduate of Mansfield High School, where he was the runner up for the state’s soccer MVP award. He played at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, and is currently finishing his degree plan at Tarleton State.

Wile has vast experience playing and coaching in club soccer, having done both for the Dallas Texans. He does not, however, have experience coaching in public schools.

“Coaching soccer is nothing new to me,” Wile said. “I just have to grow accustomed to the administrative side of coaching in high school. It will be a learning experience for me.”

Having recently assisted in the coaching of the Stephenville Quest club team, Wile had the opportunity to work with some of the Honeybees who will be sophomores in the upcoming 2007-08 school year.
