The eighth grade B team won third in the Stephenville tournament on Sept. 29.
In their first match against Brewer, Makenzie Poynor and Lauren Parks, each had two points. Parks had two aces and Poynor added one. In the second game of the match, Whitney Cooke had two points and one ace as the Bees split, 12-15, 5-15.
In their second pool match, Sarah Malone had a great game with seven serves, five points, and two aces. They won 15-13. Scotta Faulkenberry added two points and Shayanne Viss chipped in one. Poynor, Lauren Parks, and Viss each had a kill. In the second game, Malone made five serves and five points, with two aces. Parks added two points and teammates Libby Riggs, Faulkenberry and Hannah Forned each added one winning the second game 15-11.
In the third match Malone had a hot hand with six serves, five points made, and one ace. Poynor, Riggs, Faulkenberry and Viss added points for the Bees as they won over Tison 15-9 in the first game. In the second game, Parks had five serves, five points,
and two aces. Malone and Fornes added three and one points to help the Bees win 15-7.
In the Bees first bracket game against Dublin, Viss had five serves and four points. Poynor, Malone, and Parks each had one kill. Riggs and Malone had one ace each as the Bees won 25-17. In the second game, Malone had three points, and two aces. Parks and Faulkenberry each had a kill, but Dublin won 25-18. In the third game, Poynor and Viss each had one kill. Malone, Poynor, Parks, and Viss had points, but not enough as Dublin won 16-25.
In their final game, the Bees played Joshua winning 25-19, 25-23. Hannah Fornes had a great game with nine serves, eight points, and five aces. Poynor had three kills and one ace. In the second game Riggs and Parks had five serves, Parks had four points, and Riggs had one point. Malone and Faulkenberry each had one kill and Parks two. The Bees ended in 3rd place.
