Hico — After starting off strong, the Lady Tigers dropped three straight games to Clifton by the scores of 25-20, 25-15 and 25-20 here Tuesday.
The Lady Tigers looked strong in disposing of Clifton quickly in game one by the score of 25-21, but CHS’ tough kills and hard serving aces proved to be too much for Hico.
"When we were on we played really well," said Coach Barry Tooley. "But unfortunately we got down at some points. We just have to stay focused."
Despite the losses, the Lady Tigers had their moments.
Sara Uptergrove led the way in kills with seven, and Taylor Streenz wasn’t far behind with six. Streenz also had two digs, a block, an assist and a service ace.
Kara Finstad led the team in assists with 10, and also had four kills and three blocks.
Anna Mathews was the ace leader for Hico, serving up 10.
The Lady Tigers will participate in the De Leon Tournament beginning Thursday.
