Stephenville committed eight errors and Mansfield Legacy scored three runs in the top of the seventh to come from behind and edge the Honeybees, 6-5, in District 8-4A softball at McCleskey Field in City Park on Tuesday.

Stephenville looked to be cruising after scoring three runs in the bottom of the fifth to move ahead, 5-3, but Legacy wasn’t through at the plate.

The Bronchos, who had only five hits against freshman hurler Katelyn Conlee, posted two of them and took advantage of a two-base error in the sevnth to score the three runs that made the difference.

Honeybee errors were also costly in the third and fourth, when Legacy tacked on one run in each at bat to take a 3-1 lead.

SHS?tallied the next four runs before the Legacy comeback.

Conlee struck out nine batters, seven swinging and two looking, in the loss, and also went 2-4 with the bat, driving in one run and scoring two.

Martha Vasquez had the only other multi-hit game for the Bees, going 2-3.

Two Legacy pitchers combined to strikeout 10 Honeybee hitters.

Stephenville also fell to Crowley, 3-0, in a make-up game on Monday.  The Bees are now 0-4 in 8-4A play.

SHS?hits the road on Friday for a league battle against Mansfield Timberview.
